As day turns to evening, the muscle boys move in and the atmosphere becomes a whole lot cruisier. There’s a brighter, cleaner vibe upstairs too, not to mention an improved menu, which makes this a popular place for lunch. No longer do the downstairs toilets smell of damp. They’ve also splashed out on some major refurbishments. The new owners have built on his success and added a few touches of their own. When Llewellyn retired to Spain a few years ago, some thought the bar’s popularity would go with him.
